Our Mission

Applying for a U.S. passport involves a confusing network of acceptance facilities — USPS post offices, county clerks, city halls, and (until February 2026) libraries — each with different hours, walk-in policies, photo services, and appointment requirements. The State Department's official facility finder returns raw data with no editorial guidance. Most government websites only cover their own facility.

USPassport was built to close that gap. We provide county-by-county guides that answer the practical questions real applicants face: Can I walk in? Do they take passport photos? What exactly do I bring? What happens if I have a child under 16 and only one parent can attend?

We are not affiliated with the U.S. Department of State, USPS, or any government agency. We are an independent editorial resource, free to use, supported by advertising.

Our Editorial Standards

Every page on USPassport is written to answer a specific, real question — not to generate traffic from vague keywords. Our editorial principles:

• Specificity. We name specific facilities, give specific hours, and note local variations. A page that says "check with your local post office" is not useful to someone who just drove across town.
• Accuracy over quantity. When we cannot verify a specific detail, we say so — we do not guess. We include "always call to confirm" language on every county page because facility hours genuinely change without notice.
• Recency. Passport facility information changes. We update content when we learn of changes and clearly note last-verified dates.
• Independence. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored listings, or affiliate arrangements with passport expediting services or any other commercial entity. Our only revenue is Google AdSense display advertising.
• Original content. Every page on this site is written from scratch. We do not aggregate, scrape, or republish government text. Our value is synthesis, clarity, and local specificity — not reproduction.

USPassport is supported entirely by Google AdSense display advertising. When you visit pages on this site, Google may display contextually relevant advertisements. We earn a small amount when visitors interact with those ads.

We do not have affiliate arrangements with any passport service, expediting company, photo provider, or government agency. We do not charge for any tool, checklist, or information on this site. Everything is free.
